An awkward, humble young unicorn, Sunset Shimmer was born in Canterlot and vastly interested in magic. The problem was that she wasn't all that interested in making friends. She ended up being accepted by a prestigious magic academy, and while taking her entrance exam she endured a powerful magic surge that got the attention of King Sombra. It was this that got her to the point where he took her under his wing, so to speak, and made her his own student. Sunset studied hard under him and eventually was sent to Ponyville to make friends and further her studies. She eventually befriended Trixie, Flim, Flam, and Lightning Dust.
Over the course of at least a year, Sunset progressed enough to ascend to the status of princess. She wasn't quite sure what to make of her new position at first, but she'd taking the adjustment to her life relatively well. The only remaining difficulties are in the trouble the Mane 6, Celestia, Luna, Cadence, and Spike cause.
Unlike her counterpart beyond the mirror, Sunset is not overly ambitious and has no desire to be evil. She instead is loyal to King Sombra and hates the Mane 6, Celestia, Luna, Cadence, and Spike for the bad they do. She is the element of Magic.
Sample Post: "King Sombra?"
Sunset had noticed an influx of newcomers over the passing days. At first it had been a small hoof-full, but then the number had begun to increase beyond the point where she could just wave it off. She'd assigned Trixie to keep an eye on things, which her friend had agreed to without too much of a fuss, and then turned her own assignment to reporting to her teacher. After all, King Sombra had the right to know. The humble young unicorn wasn't about to just let this opportunity slip by her teacher's notice.
She trotted into his chambers and came to a stop at his throne where he sat in waiting. As soon as she was there, the young alicorn bowed for a moment and tried to quickly figure out the best way to inform him. It didn't take all that long.
"I think we may have an opportunity to face the impending situation. There are children in our midst, and... I think maybe they could help us fight against our foes if we asked them."
